Beijing: Chinese President Xi Jinping has acknowledged that China’s economy faces “numerous difficulties,” as stated in an article set to be published this week in Qiushi, the official journal of the Communist Party. Xi highlighted the deepening impact of external economic pressures, stating that China must navigate ongoing challenges.

Despite these hurdles, Xi remained optimistic, emphasizing that the country’s economic fundamentals remain strong. He pointed out that China still possesses resilience, vast potential, and the conditions necessary for long-term growth.

The remarks come just days before the highly anticipated "Two Sessions" meetings, where China’s leadership is expected to focus on economic recovery and trade tensions, particularly with the United States under President Trump. Analysts predict that key policies will be introduced to shield the economy from external risks.

On Wednesday, Premier Li Qiang is set to open the National People’s Congress (NPC), where he will outline China’s economic growth targets for 2025. The government’s plans for economic stabilization and policy adjustments will be closely watched by global markets.
